What Are The New A2P-10DLC Regulations?
A2P refers to application-to-person messaging, which refers to a texting tool or services like Votacall that businesses use to communicate with clients and customers
10DLC stands for 10-digit long code, which is a 10-digit phone number bought and owned by your business to be used to send and receive text messages.
Our upstream carriers have stated that by March 1st, all businesses that use a tool or platform to communicate with consumers from a 10DLC number must register their business with all service providers.
Basically, you have to identify WHO you are and WHAT you're sending.
How Will This Affect My Business?
10DLC policies are a continuation of previous regulations around short-code services (think political campaigns and marketing messages).
This is actually a great thing for legitimate businesses that text with consumers.
As it stands now, text deliverability rates are dependent on congestion of activities with service providers.
Businesses with 10DLC will now have a reputation score. These scores determine priority when it comes to messaging.
With a fully registered and compliant business, you will receive a positive reputation score, which can actually BOOST your deliverability rate.
On the flip-side of this, businesses that aren't registered will receive negative reputation scores. This means your texts will hit a global spam filter, and never get received by their intended target.
So registering your business is extremely important.
How Can I Make Sure My Business Is Compliant?
Don’t worry, Votacall has your back! We're making it super easy for our customers to register their business.
That's because we are going to do all the hard work on our end. To get your business registered, all we need for you to do is fill out this form.
Seriously, that's it. Our team will handle the back-end work, communicate with our contacts at each cellular service provider, and ensure that you're compliant and ready to go.
Will this cost me Money?
Charges are Determined by our upstream carriers (DCA) and passed through to you. These are Monthly charges for each Campaign a Brand(you), creates. There is a also a one time $8 set up charge.
